Cake Wallet Web: how to open and use the online wallet
Cake Wallet Web is the browser build of Cake Wallet: the same self-custody wallet engine, the same coins and the same seed formats, with nothing to install. This guide walks through opening the wallet, creating or restoring it, and using the dashboard day to day.
What Cake Wallet Web is (and what it is not)
It is a full wallet, not a demo: the page derives keys from your recovery phrase, produces real addresses and reads balances from the blockchain. It is not a custodial service — no account, e-mail or password is created, and the wallet operator never holds your funds. Because of that, there is also no “reset password”: the recovery phrase is the only way back into a wallet.
Opening the web wallet
- Go to the Cake Wallet dashboard on this domain. Bookmark it, and prefer typing the address by hand over following links from messengers.
- Pick Create a new wallet if you are starting fresh, or Restore wallet from seed if you already have a phrase.
- Give the wallet a name — the default wallet_1 is fine, and the name only exists locally to tell wallets apart.
Creating a wallet
A new wallet shows a 16-word recovery phrase. Write the words down in order, on paper, and store the copy separately from the device. The switch on the reveal screen shows the equivalent 25-word Monero seed if you prefer the classic format. After you confirm, the dashboard runs a short sync and shows the balance, the primary address and a receive QR code.
Restoring an existing wallet
Choose Restore wallet from seed, pick the phrase length you have (16 words for Polyseed, 12 or 24 for BIP39, 25 for Monero) and enter the words in order. A valid phrase restores exactly the addresses and balances it produced elsewhere; the full walk-through, including checksum errors, is in the restore guide.
Using the dashboard
- Balance and history — totals per coin and the recent transaction list update after each sync.
- Receive — the QR code and the address; Monero subaddresses are generated per receive request.
- Send — paste the destination, amount and fee level, then confirm.
- Wallets menu — add another seed phrase (up to 10 wallets) or switch between the ones you already added.
- Extras — local notes and the built-in calculator for quick conversions.
Keeping it safe
Use the wallet in a private window on shared machines, close the tab afterwards, and never store a screenshot of the phrase. If you are moving larger amounts, prefer a private connection and the native app. A wallet opened in the browser behaves exactly like the mobile one — the difference is only the environment you run it in.

Can I use it on a phone?
Yes — the web wallet works in mobile browsers, and native iOS and Android apps are available as well.
